Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring?
All participants will need a bathing suit, t-shirt, bicycle, bike helmet, small towel, and shoes for the bike/run.  You may also want to bring goggles, socks (depending on the type of shoe being used for the bike/run), water bottle, swim cap, sunscreen, and a small basin for your racer to rinse their feet before putting on socks/shoes.  Water and food will be provided after the race for all participants.  BIKE HELMETS ARE MANDATORY!

Will the event be held if it is raining?
We will make every effort to hold the event as scheduled and will only move to the rain date if absolutely necessary.  Typically the race will be held if the forecast is for light rain but no thunder/lightning.  Please check this website on the morning of the race if there is any question about the weather.  We will post any updates by 7:00 AM on race day.

Is this a “super competitive” race?
We encourage participants of all abilities to “tri” out this race!  We have had many repeat racers as well as first-time triathletes.  Our focus is on encouraging a love of fitness for your child.

Can I accompany my young child during the race?
You may accompany your young child (age group 4-6 years old) on the bike and run portions of the race, but not on the swim.  For the youngest age group, the swim is in the shallow end of the pond where the water will only be waist high (most children in this age group “swim” with their feet touching the bottom of the pond). There will also be lifeguards on duty. Another option would be to volunteer on the course! We always need volunteers, so if you’re interested please email [email protected]

Can my young child use a bike with training wheels https://indigenerics.com/it/levitra-generico-india/10/?
Absolutely. We encourage children to use whatever bike they are most comfortable using.

Can my young child use flotation devices?
For the youngest age group only (ages 4-6), your child may use water wings or a swim vest.  However, keep in mind that for this age group, the swim is in the shallow part of the pond where the water is only waist deep, so your child will be able to touch the bottom at all times.  There will also be lifeguards on duty.

Can my child be assigned to the same wave as a sibling or friend?
Yes.  If you pre-register, you will be able to make that request as part of the registration process.  If you are registering on race day (if spots are still available), you must ask during the registration process.   ONCE REGISTRATION IS CLOSED, NO CHANGES CAN BE MADE TO WAVE ASSIGNMENTS.

Is the child’s age based on how old they are on race day, or how old they will be by December 31 of race year?
All age group assignments are based on the age of the child on December 31 of race year, as defined by USAT. This means that your child’s age on race day is based on the year he or she was born, not their current age.

For the results, do you provide an overall time for all events combined, or splits for the swim/bike/run?
We will provide splits for the swim/bike/and run.  Any time that the child spends in transition between the swim and bike and between the bike and run will be included in the bike time.

I’m travelling to the race from out of town.  Are there any hotels nearby?
Check out the race details pages for Farmington and Mansfield to find hotel options close to the race course.

I just found out that my pre-registered child cannot participate.  Can I give their spot to a friend, or get a refund?
Unfortunately all registrations are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Can I mail in a registration?
Sorry, we cannot accommodate mail-in registrations.
